BUG review
North Wind Lodge is a nice house a few kilometres off the main road, on a 4ha property that stretches down to the Henderson Bay waterfront. Rooms are clean and comfortable and a few parts of the house were being renovated when we visited. There’s a pleasant backyard patio along with the usual kitchen/TV facilities, including internet access. Owners John and Cathleen (and their twins) are very friendly and a great source of information about hikes and tours in the area. Free boogie boards and sand boards are available for guests. A small shop sells essential food items. At certain times of the year, Henderson Bay is a top surf spot.

About BUG's hostel reviews
This hostel was visited by one of BUG's team of hostel inspectors who write independent reviews and assess a star rating based on an objective assessment criteria.

We show up unannounced at hostels to write honest and unbiased hostel reviews. Many of BUG's reviews now feature videos and photo slideshows. BUG never receives payment for listing any establishment and BUG's researchers never accept free accommodation in exchange for favourable reviews.
