BUG review
This hostel is set in a lovely restored villa on a huge tract of farmland. The dorms are cute and clean, with made-up beds and comfortable mattresses. There is a warm lounge with a big TV, a newly renovated kitchen, laundry and nice gardens with a barbecue. Bathrooms are spotless. It has a quiet but very comfortable atmosphere and is the perfect place to get away if you have a car.

Wright's Mill is a wonderfully restored cottage (a previous home of the guys who run Hilltop). We got even luckier and had it to ourselves for two nights. The garden is spectacular, the house has all the comforts - even down to a huge TV. Tahakopa is the middle of nowhere so stock up and you will definitely be in a car if you come here, but it's easy to get at all the little wonders of the Catlins.visited early 07
