BUG review
Tatahi Lodge is a lovely all-pine house designed in an airy Lockwood-style. The property runs the gamut of accommodation from dorm beds to luxury motel units. Six-bed dorm rooms are fairly small but feel open with high, sloping ceilings and large windows. They come with sturdy pine bunks. There’s a cosy common room and a nice kitchen as well. Tatahi Lodge is set on nice grounds and is very close to a little cluster of cafés, an ice-cream parlour, a bar and a general store. Internet and Wi-Fi access are available, and there’s a barbecue on the back deck.

This was the first hostel on our vist to NZ and it was one of the BEST. Very clean rooms and baths. GREAT location. Extremely friendly staff. Just note: The town has few food options at night so plan ahead or you will spend and arma and a leg. Most small NZ towns were like this.
