BUG review
Out in East Hamilton, close to the university and Hamilton Gardens, J’s Backpackers is set in a modest house with a big backyard area. Rooms are basic and clean. There isn’t a ton of indoor space, with a couple of small common areas, but the back patio features a nice outdoor fireplace and there’s a front yard as well. The staff are friendly and there’s a good backpacker vibe here. Some shops and pubs are close by on Grey Street and the centre of Hamilton is about a half-hour walk. There is a free pick-up and drop off service to the bus station.

New owner of this hostel. Facilities provided are very good. Beds are clean and comfy & bathrooms are clean. Kitchen needs to be upgraded (on the agenda). Situated in a suburban area with transport and shops approx. 300m distant. Offstreet parking available. A very friendly atmosphere and a helpful proprietor.
