BUG review
Dickson Holiday Park is a large camp with accommodation ranging from tent and camper van sites to cabins and motel units. It’s set along a stream and has a number of bush walks you can take through the surrounding forest. There’s a games room with table tennis and table soccer, a swimming pool and free bikes to use. A butterfly and orchid garden is also on-site, and you can pick up small snacks and goods at a shop in the reception office. Backpackers generally stay in the small cabins and caravans; there’s one large dorm bunk but we’re told it’s hardly ever used. In all, there’s lots of space and some good facilities, although it lacks a real hostel atmosphere and has lots of families and groups coming through.

About BUG's hostel reviews
This hostel was visited by one of BUG's team of hostel inspectors who write independent reviews and assess a star rating based on an objective assessment criteria.

We show up unannounced at hostels to write honest and unbiased hostel reviews. Many of BUG's reviews now feature videos and photo slideshows. BUG never receives payment for listing any establishment and BUG's researchers never accept free accommodation in exchange for favourable reviews.
