BUG review
Backpackers Habitat is part of a sprawling holiday park complex, with accommodation options including tents, campervans, dorms, motel rooms and cabins. It feels like a self-contained village with around 185 beds spread around the property. Facilities include a sauna (for an additional fee) and spa pool, a small TV lounge, playground equipment and a minimarket by the reception. There’s also a large bar with three pool tables, an air hockey table and a big projection TV. It’s so spread out and varied that there’s not much backpacker atmosphere here. Facilities and accommodation could also be in better shape. The entire camp is often hired out by large groups for meetings, retreats, and other outings.

About BUG's hostel reviews
This hostel was visited by one of BUG's team of hostel inspectors who write independent reviews and assess a star rating based on an objective assessment criteria.

We show up unannounced at hostels to write honest and unbiased hostel reviews. Many of BUG's reviews now feature videos and photo slideshows. BUG never receives payment for listing any establishment and BUG's researchers never accept free accommodation in exchange for favourable reviews.

Local thieves take excellent advantage of easy access to these rooms, which are spread out motel-style over a compound. Also avoid the $9 BBQ unless you really, really, really like lamb and will take it in almost any condition.
