BUG review
This hostel is in a beautifully renovated old church in a peaceful riverside location about a 10-minute drive south of Hokitika. Inside, it is warm, cosy and clean. The common room has a huge stone fireplace, comfy sofas, a pool table and an extensive record collection. Bathrooms and showers are spotlessly clean and well maintained, and there is a fully-equipped kitchen. Accommodation is in dorms with basic bunks and single beds made up with duvets. You can go fishing, hiking, or walk down to the beach, and the staff here are extremely friendly and will give you great tips on what to do in the area.

The old church was open for a few days, when we stayed there in December 2002. It is very nice done, with a lot of nice little ideas (wonderful kitchen, pool table, barbecue place). The rooms are very pretty. We were empressed by the owner, he did a good job, was very nice and helpfuly. And we think it is a great idea, to build a backpackers out of a old church.
