Punakaiki Beach Hostel Webb Street, Punakaiki Tel (03) 731 1852 Website www.punakaikibeachhostel.co.nz BUG review This bright yellow and green hostel has a great beachfront location. It also has a good amount of character, but unfortunately it could be better maintained. Facilities are basic, but there is a spa pool and a barbecue and a gorgeous view from the upstairs veranda. The communal kitchen is relatively clean, though the bathrooms could use some work. It has a nice atmosphere and management/staff are friendly. Located near Pancake rocks with an absolutley fantastic ride from Hokitika. Easy walking distance to the local Tavern where good meals are available as well as freindly helpful locals. Cooking facilities for those who must are more than adequate. Internet facilities available.
