BUG review
This place is down a long gravel road about 20km south of Karamea. It is mainly a place to stay for WWOOFers and trampers coming or going on the Wangapeka and Heaphy Tracks. Accommodation is in a large dorm room with rustic furnishings and single beds. It is quite run down, but has a log fire and thick duvets. The bathrooms in the house are nice and clean and there is a cosy TV lounge and dining area. There are also bush baths and internet access. Guests use the clean fully-equipped kitchen in the owners’ house. The owners are warm and friendly.

About BUG's hostel reviews
This hostel was visited by one of BUG's team of hostel inspectors who write independent reviews and assess a star rating based on an objective assessment criteria.

We show up unannounced at hostels to write honest and unbiased hostel reviews. Many of BUG's reviews now feature videos and photo slideshows. BUG never receives payment for listing any establishment and BUG's researchers never accept free accommodation in exchange for favourable reviews.
