BUG Review
Victor Lodge is a good accommodation option. It is clean with good facilities that include a kitchen, TV lounge and internet access and they provide a good buffet breakfast. The hostel has a quiet location on a residential street between the train station and the new Parliament House. The Kingston shops, which include pubs, cafés and restaurants, are just behind the hostel.

I read a review of this place that said there would be pancakes. I had no pancakes. The cab ride from the bus station was expensive, though if you arrive at the right time you can get their free shuttle. There is one little TV room, and really expensive internet. There wasn't much atmosphere, and I couldn't wait to get out of there

We loved this hostel, although it is just outside of the centre you can get the bus from up the road with a daily ticket from$4. The staff are lovely, when we arrived for out dorm we were only meant to have a fan room but they offered us the aircon room for the same price as they had space. They do your washing up which was great and the dorms were spotless!!

We found this place a bit strange.. You cant complain about the cleanliness etc but the place feels a bit like a cheap motel rather than a hostel. The kitchen is an old commercial kitchen so hard to cook anything in it without lighting massive ovens etc. The showers are a bit strange too with only a curtain to shield your dignity.. Internet is extortionate!!! Location wise Kingston is a nice area but it is far away from Canberra. A bit soulless overall.

Can't complain about this place, it's a good hostel. Very clean, very quiet and comfortable. Breakfast is good and you don't have to clean any or your dishes, whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner! Shops are near by and parliament house is about 15mins walk, but the main centre takes about 30-40 mins walk. Overall a good place.

Victor Lodge was a great place. Since there isnt much to do in Canberra anyway, I didnt mind the quiet atmosphere. It was actually quite relaxing. The Oz bus comes through a couple of times a week so that can be aggravating, but overall good place if you dont mind walking. And they have a great breakfast...get some porridge!

Loved this place, homely and clean. Good location close to pubs, shops and easy to get to main attractions. I took a bike its faster but if you walk its ok.

Friendly and not the bar type hostel.

Free pickups only up to a certain time, and none from the airport as listed on 'Bootsandall' so a $20 taxi is the only way to get there. Rooms small, the fan/heater of no use when four people in the room. Desk not staffed for most of the day, staff unhelpful. Internet expensive. Breakfast a bit of a scrum when busy. Dryers often not working but don't get a refund.

It's relatively comfortable and clean and you get breakfast included in the price but it's too far from the centre and main attractions. I stayed in the summer and my room was roasting despite the fan. Kitchen is small but well equipped. Internet access is expensive $1 for 7mins! Showers are clean but there's only 2 on each floor! It's alright, nothing special.

Nice, clean comfortable hostel with a big choice for breakfast. Single beds (as well as bunks) in the large girls dorm which was a plus but not enough showers for that many people in a room! Close to the local student area of Kingston.

Friendly and very clean, good facilites. Great kitchen and they even wash up for you. Breakfast is fantastic, cereals , the best yogurt and fruit, juices, toast(including fruitbread), AND the most amazing porridge. I don't think Alison was at Victor Lodge!! This place is cool.
