BUG Review
Broken Hill's centrally located YHA hostel is comprised of two main buildings: a brick building at the front and an old corrogated iron building out back. The hostel is built around a courtyard with a barbecue and swimming pool. Inside there is a plain lounge with a TV and basic cooking facilities – just a toaster, microwave and kettle. The hostel is overdue for renovation and the interior feels very dated.
Price Dorm bed $24.50 ($20 HI/YHA) Double room $54 ($50 HI/YHA) Twin room $49 ($44 HI/YHA) Family room $70 ($60 HI/YHA) Prices are in Australian dollars and are inclusive of all taxes.
This hostel reminds me of Fawlty towers The Female manager was cool But the Guy Reminds me of Basil Fawlty Other than that the price is good the rooms and kitchen are good so is the pool

He is a horrible abrapt person, who keeps yelling at the guests and making them feel uncomfortable. He has a fetish about cleaning the dishes, and if he only suspects that you did'nt wash your dishes he would call you terrible names. The dorm's are actually twin rooms, so they are quite comfortable. If you are passing through Broken hill, pay abit more and go stay at Mario's.

When I first arrived I was very put off. The owner/manager was really rude, abrupt and abrasive when I checked in... I was quite shocked. However, the other guests at the time were great and the town itself really grew on me in the few days I spent there. Everyone else was friendly enough, and the female half of the management is a darling, caring woman... try to deal with her. Rooms were basic but clean. Decent pool and good kitchen area. Don't miss Silverton and camels.
