BUG Review
The youth hostel is located in a big old guesthouse and everything is kept clean. Facilities include a big kitchen, barbecue and a spa in the garden.
Accommodation consists of small dormitories (the largest has six beds) as well as family rooms, very nice double rooms and camping.
The atmosphere is like that of a more traditional youth hostel and caters more to families and (school and hiking) groups, rather than independent travellers.
Price Dorm bed $25.50 ($22 HI/YHA) Double/twin room $59 ($52 HI/YHA) Prices are in local currency and are inclusive of all taxes.
Pros:
Everything spick and span, friendly owner
Cons:
No other residents!

I was the only person staying here, so didn't really get a chance to sample the atmosphere. The dorm and facilities were all fine, and the owner was helpful. You must do the night-time walk to the Glow Worm Grotto if you come to Bundanoon - not only is it a little scary stumbling along the unlit trail (especially if your torch's batteries are running low), but you'll quite likely see other animals apart from the glow worms (I saw a wombat and an echidna). I would stay here again.
This hostel is an old guest house which has been converted for YHA use, not as swish as Blue mountains but that is to be expected. The communal areas are open, friendly but a bit run down & with lots of mis-matched crockery etc. It's well placed if you are interested in exploring this area but don't fancy paying Bowral BnB prices for your lodgings, train services should be checked for frequency if this is your mode of transport. Probably best if not travelling alone. There are some nice old pubs about 1km up the road & a small supermarket.
