BUG Review
This small hostel is cosy but shows its age. The kitchen is homely and well equipped and there is a pool table, barbeque, and swimming pool area with a fire pit that guests make good use of. They also offer free use of surfboards, a free city tour, and free pickup from the bus station. The atmosphere is potentially very fun, but they need to do a bit of renovating to keep the standards up.
Price Dorm bed $22 Double/twin room $55 Prices are in Australian dollars and are inclusive of all taxes.
Pros:
The shopping centre was behind the hostel / had 2 ovens
Cons:
No atmosphere, dirty - had mice and cockroaches
rachaelandy

This was a weird place to stay - i wouldnt bother going to Coffs Harbour if you can avoid it. Not much there apart from a town thats miles away and a pet superstore. This Hostel was weird, the guy that picked us up didnt talk to us all the way to the hostel and when we got there we realised we had made a boo-boo (no wonder we were the only ones he picked up). The barracuda is like a really old motel that no one has done up. We had a double room that came with free mice behind the wardrobe. The bed was ok but that and the wardrobe was all that was in the room. The communal toilets where ok but the showers didnt work properly and you couldnt go to the toilet without getting attacked by mozzies. The hostel had a few residents who were strange and the staff were even weirder - once you had checked in they ignored you. There is a small kitchen with two ovens and hobs - also a toaster/kettle and big fridge. The kitchen was always full of flies and it was hard to keep your cool while cooking. The place was dirty and i wouldnt reccomend it to anyone. The beach was about 10 minutes away and the shopping centre was about 5 minutes. We spent most of our time in the shopping centre. Also the Aussitel is meant to be a nasty place to stay.
