BUG Review
Hoey Moey is in a dated and run down motel, but it is popular with the party-minded because it shares the property with a lively pub & restaurant. There is live music and entertainment on the weekends. It has private access, via boardwalk, to the beach, and they offer free use of body boards and surfboards. There is also free pizza night on Monday and a bottle shop next door. It is relatively cheap and it may be the best place to party, but it is pretty grimy and security is limited. It would be better to stay somewhere else and come to the bar to party.

Right near the beach, very cheap bunks. Good bar full of local characters, get away from the backpacker crowd and experience local australia. Free surfboards and a local took me out for my 1st lesson, priceless. Will take the memories of this place back home. If I get to Coffs again, I'm straight to the Hoey for a drink with my new local friends.

I agree with the other reviews here, this hostel is rubbish. It isn't realy a hostel- it is a horrible motel with bunkbeds shoved into the rooms. The staff were very rude, more of a "hostile" than a hostel.

The standard of hostels in Aus is quite poor on average, considering backpacking is such a big thing there, and this is one of the ones that lets the side down.
