BUG Review
This small hostel has dorms laid out around a cosy centre courtyard. It has clean toilets and showers, a big kitchen, and a barbecue. Guests hang out in hammocks around the courtyard and have barbecues at night. It is a very convivial setting. They offer free body boards and bicycles, and staff offer loads of advice about activities. Everything is cheerful and bright, with friendly reception staff and a laid-back atmosphere. It is off the main road, so phone ahead and they will give you directions.

Good for a one or two night stop over, December 4, 2008

Hostel was very small. Shared accommodation (the room size) was the smallest I have stayed in thus far. Quiet challenging if your other room mates are messy and don't confine their belongings to just their bed... Courtyard was lovely - very special feel. I like the set up. All rooms enter off the courtyard which encourages a very 'communal' feel. However, the group here on the afternoon I arrived weren't very conversational or exciting. I didn't expect a huge party... just some general light chit chat. So my friend and I moved on. There are far prettier areas then Port Macquaire. And places with more activities, so I agree that this isnt a hostel that you are likely to stay for several weeks unless you have found work... I had my own car, so driving to the city centre was no issue. However, if you are relying on your feet or public transport this hostel's location is a challenge. Free breaky in the morning. Only one cereal on offer though. Free tea and coffee. Free internet access. Only one terminal so sometimes there is a cue. Portable sterio so you can bring your own music. Good selection of movies to watch and decent couches. Good cooking facilities. Good size bathroom as well (females only... I didn't check out the guys). Probably would try another hostel in the area if I went to Port Macquaire unless I was staying with a group of friends and knew it would be a little more lively. Staff were friendly... but didn't get back to me as promised in regards to membership cost for VIP backpackers and I was looking to move on so I didn't bother chasing it up... which would have been easy enough. Business is business and if you want to keep it... things like this shouldn't be missed. If there were no other hostels to try in the area, I would come back here. It wasnt that bad. It just didnt offer what I was looking for on the one particular night I booked in: Fun friendly people to hang out with- which is why I was staying at a hostel and not an apartment.

First we arrived in late night just to find there were no key put out for us as promised. After some phonecalls and bangings on the wall we finally got our room. Then when we were waiting on our bus on our depatureday we had to pay 10$ just for staying on the premises even though we came in the middle of the night when we arrived. Long walks to everything (shops, beaches) and a very quiet town..

Amazing hostel (best Ive ever stayed in by far!!) So clean and the lay out is so good cos everyone gets to meet each other and form good friends in the lovely courtyard and the atmosphere here is brilliant right from the start. Clean bathrooms and spotless kitchen. The only down side is the small town its in cos its quiet and not much to do after 3-4 days! Ozzie Pozzie is a must tho, short term. Dont miss out on this brilliant place!! Made some lovely friends here and you'll love it!

This place is legendary. I arrived late at night and they picked me up from the bus station. Very friendly and a fantastic room with some quality people. Soon as i arrived i was met by some really nice people who asked me to go fishing and for a drink. I think of all the people i met in Australia... the best ones where from here.

You can chill in the Hammocks or swim in the lake just down the road or even the beach.

Love it!

I stayed at Ozzie Pozzie for a couple of nights and loved it. The hostel is very clean and quiet........ it has a really relaxing and calm atmosphere but for those who want to party the hostel offers free rides into town at night. The lay out of the hostel ensures that those travelling independently have the chance to meet and mix with other travellers. The staff are great and do all they can to make sure their guests have a great stay. Whats more is that Port has fantastic beaches and there is loads to do!

I stayed at Ozzie Pozzie for 2 nights in september, and have to say that it was probably the most relaxed layed back hostel I've been to. Not a whole lot to do in town, but it makes for a good break if you've been travelling a while, or partying non-stop.

Found the free coffee to be most beneficial!

The staff is really nice...but it looks like if you were in a summer camp!

But, you should stay there like for a night or two...not too long...otherwise you get bored!

You can rent movies for free...or for some little money
