Tiny rooms, miniscule kitchen but bearable, March 19, 2007
Reviewer: sunnyday from Perth

Although this is a YHA hostel it falls much below the standards of others I have stayed in. The kitchen was an absolute joke, as was the cleaning job in there. There needs to be twice the amount of fridge space there was for such a large hostel, there was nowhere to put our food. Our room was tiny too. The beach was a short walk away but I'd stay somewhere else next time.

Stayed for a few days in November 2005. The hostel had a mix of short term visitors, language students and those on WHM looking for work. Kitchen was small & overcrowded with cutlery & crockery requiring a deposit from reception. Its location a short walk from Bondi & Tamarama beaches is excellent. Don't miss the coast walk from Bondi to Bronte when you stay.

Stayed again in November 2006 and found the atmosphere to be far better this time around. Kitchen/dining/lounge area was cleaner and tidier

Cool hostel not far from the beach and shops.

We booked a double with bathroom - the room was very tiny but nice and cosy. It had bed/lockers (one at the bottom contained a small fridge) and kettle with free tea/coffee. The bathroom was small but had a shower sink and toilet. We did have a t.v but reception was a bit naff. We had to change rooms after 2 nights and got stuffed with just a double no t.v no bathroom and no fridge! It was only $10 more for an en-suite but they were full to capacity .

There is a communal t.v/video room and luggage storage 2 but that room was a cesspit.

They have a laundry and internet and communal kitchen - we didnt cook there but it looked ok - wasnt busy atall. There is a big rooftop balcony- (you can smoke up there) which is great for views and watching electrical storms! There is also the courtyard for sitting outside and hanging your washing.

Great all rounder without excelling. Howevre our double room was very good, hence we crashed for 2 1/2 weeks. I would certainly go back as the staff were great and you will meets lots of people. Free surf/body board hire means you can crash on the beach before piling into Sydeny on the 24 hr bus service.

Stayed here for nearly 3 weeks over the Christmas period and found it to be one of the best in Bondi. The 6 bed dorms are nice and spacious compared to the slighty cramped 4 bed. All the rooms are clean and tidy, with some of the communual areas beginning to become slightly run down.

The hostel is in a good location next to Tamarama beach, and the views from the rooftop are great!

The facilies are generally good with the exception of the tiny kitchen, which is a bit of a joke to be honest as the staff have their own seperate one all to themselves!
