BUG Review
This hostel is located above a bar, much farther from the beach than the other Bondi hostels. Consequently, it has no real atmosphere. The kitchen is poorly maintained and the common area is one small dusty room crammed with tattered couches and a TV. The bathrooms are also quite a mess.

The people were great, but the facilities left a lot to be desired, May 2, 2007

Pros: The staff were friendly, and the location was close to the beach
Cons: The facilities were really bad and the place was very dirty

The best things about beached at Bondi was the staff and the location.

The staff were very laid back, and gladly mingled with hostel guests. The location was within a 10 minute walking distance of Bondi Beach, and the bus stop to the city was just outside the door.

The rooms were standard hostel rooms, and the beds were comfortable. No complaints there.

However, the facilities at this hostel leaves a lot to be desired. The kitchen was far too small for the amount of guests staying there. It was crawling with ants, and obviously unclean. I always ate out during my stay there. There was poor maintenance of the bathrooms, as the showers were always breaking. Finally, the setees and chairs in the living room were full of bed bugs (as my arms and legs found out from all the bites), so it was better to sit on the floor!

The hostel was always clean and welcoming. The manager Joe was a great guy he was a bit crazy, in a good way!! he was always willing to help you. There is also a service to help you find a job. Beach is less than 5 mins walk away. On main transport strip over the road to bus to city and a bus that takes you to the train station. Close to supermarket and restaurants a plenty! Great location for the bars by the beach such as bondi rd hotel-great times.

Rooms are clean and have own telly some have own fridge.

Only thing about the hostel is above a pub-can get noisy on a sunday night but we had no problems with the noise- quite a quiet pub really.

I would defo recommend this hostel I stayed with my friend in Jan 2005 for 2 months, longer than planned and loved it.
