BUG Review
This large hostel offers an exceptional standard of accommodation. It has loads of facilities and activities and is a fun place to stay without being a real party hostel. Staff and management are friendly and kind. The TV lounge has a large screen television and fully stocked kitchen. They offer free internet and Wi-Fi access, a rarity in Sydney. Halls, dorms and toilets are brand new and sparkling clean, with high ceilings and beautiful artwork on the walls. Décor is modern with dark red and grey paint, and there is a really cool rooftop sundeck with BBQ where you can watch the bats fly over from the park at sunset and get a nice view of the city. Checkout is later than most at 11am, and they offer free breakfast. They also boast a Peterpans travel agency included in reception. This is definitely one of the best options in Sydney.

Great location near the central train station. Reception open 24/7 with staff varying from uninterested to excellent.

Fantastic kitchen facilities, clean, well organized and spacey. The common areas are also spacious and comfortable with free WiFi. Not the best place to meet new people, too big and not very cozy.

The rooms are clean with very squeaky bunk beds and nice, clean bathroom. There was a water leak so we had water dripping down the wall and some of our stuff got wet. All we got was a 'sorry' from the reception staff. Considering location, I guess it has to be called price worthy.

Adequate, all-you-can-eat breakfast, with cereal and toast.

This was the first hostel my partner and I stayed on arrival to Sydney in Nov 2005. We stayed for 2 weeks in an en-suite double room with air-con. Very clean and well maintained. The air-con did break down but they kindly allowed us to stay in another room without having to move our luggage a couple of nights until it was fixed. Linen & towels were provided at no extra charge and the rooms were serviced daily. The cheaper weekly rate for paying in advance and free breakfast (if you're up early enough!) was a great incentive.

The rooftop area was great to relax on and have a chat and the kitchen facilities were adequate. The fridges were overcrammed with food bags/boxes though and would have benefitted from more frequent cleaning out. The lounge area was very comfy but people were reluctant to mingle in the lounge area. The big screen TV kept people transfixed to the screen a lot of the time. There were old vidoes that could be borrowed to view in your room if you had a TV & video which was handy when we wanted privacy.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Although rooftop BBQ's were advertised on posters, it never happened whilst we were there unfortunately. Nice place to stay but don't expect all night parties!

I had an awesome time in this hostel, I was here for 4 weeks and really liked it. The staff is friendly and helpfull, the kitchen is big and they have free breakfast (even tho I only had it like twice, coz it was to early for me so I always missed it ) they also have free tea and coffie. Big screen TV and some movies, only one computer with internet but there is an internet café just a short walk down the street and if you stay at BIG you get it cheaper there.

The roof top is good and I spent a lot of time there drinking with people. I met so many awesome people at this place and had a great time. I recommend BIG and when I come back to Sydney I will defenitely stay there again.
