BUG Review
This hostel is located just off a busy highway near King's Cross. The interior is cramped and old, with colourful but peeling walls. Maintenance is poor, and the dorms show their age. The kitchen is on the top floor next to the nice rooftop common area, but there is really no atmosphere to speak of here. Reception staff are cold, and there are not many opportunities for meeting other travellers. Facilities and activities are very limited.

Pros: good location for walking to all of sydney sights
Cons: run down and dirty rooms

I stayed in a double room at City Resort Hotel. The bed had very little support, just streched springs beneath a thin mattress. There was a fridge in the room which did not smell good and wasn't running. The shower in the room worked fine but the stall was quite dirty. Apparently there is a kitchen but I did not see it... Only a common room with a television (but we had a TV in our room anyways). We paid $70AUD/night for staying there (for two people in a double room) which I felt was too much for what we got. The good part of this place is it is within easy walking distance of every major sight in Sydney. Also some people have complained about traffic noise, but we stayed on the road side of the hostel and slept fine with our window open.
