BUG Review
This funky hostel has three courtyard areas and a good barbeque night. The dorm rooms are small and simple and the bathrooms could do with a good scrubbing, but it has a large, clean kitchen with plenty of cooking equipment. Some of the upper floor rooms have great city views. The TV lounge is quietly convivial, with lots of books and movies available.

Price
Dorm bed $22-25

This was the 1st hostel we stayed in when arriving in OZ last Feb. Kings Cross isnt the best town but its only a short walk or train to the city. The staff here were really friendly and happy. We had a double room and now after may hostels in our 10 months stay, it was the BEST room we've had. Excellent view, TV, Fridge, Clean, Storage for bags, Mirror, Fan, and our own little kitchen with toaster and sink! It was great. If you're heading to Kings cross I would say check in here. The free BBQ is a good way of meeting others as well.

Don't stay anywhere else, Kanga House is simply the best. The staff is friendly, the rooms are nice, comfortable and clean. 20 minutes from down town and 2 minutes from the train station, it's so easy to get around town. The most amazing thing about Kanga House was the view we had from our room...right on the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House!!! Great place to stay!!

Friendly, cosy, super clean, great location and the best view you can possibly have. From my room I had an amazing view on the city, the Harbour Bridge and the Opera house!! Definitely the best deal in the Cross!!

Sorry, but i don't see why everyone thinks this hostel is the bee's knees. I'm in a twin room, which has no room in it at all, containing a bunk bed (a fact that was not advertised before booking - most places have normal beds in twin rooms), and no room to swing a cat. My friend and I can hardly fit in the room with our two bags. It could do with some decorating too. The guy who runs the place seems friendly enough, and the kitchen seems clean (but again there is very little room).

I stayed here for a few weeks in January 2004 and I found all the people to be really friendly, it has a cosy atomsphere. It is two minutes away from the centre of Kings Cross, but on a really quiet street. I am going back to Sydney in a few months and I will happily stay there again!

Very unfriendly staff who does not cooperate to the travellers needs. You need to book via email, because they dont know how to do it via phone. After that u have to wait years for your confirmation (but who has time for that). If u are lucky enough to get a bed, prepaire for itchy skin because of bugs in several beds. Very unclean.Every other hostel is better than Kanga House.
