BUG Review
This hostel offers very basic facilities that include a TV lounge and a crappy kitchen. It's a bit grotty with sticky carpets and sagging mattresses. It just feels depressing, even though it tries to market itself as a party hostel.

Price
Dorm bed $17-19
Prices are in local currency and are inclusive of all taxes.

TV lounge

Pretty much a korean & Japanese Students hostel...Nice and polite if a bit quiet.

Free unlimited rice

Whilst run down. The rooms are huge with a living area /table and big size kitchen and huge lockers..

If you here a fire drill GET out ... no ground floor...

The Japanese place next door makes the best sushi in the area...

Overall stay a week in Sydneyt and GET OUT...

YOU DID NOT COME HERE TO GET INTO THE GO TO THE LOCAL BARS TRAP... HEAD NORTH ASAP!!!!! TO MANY STAY IN KINGS CROSS AS CHEAP IN BARS, DRINKING AND DOING DOPE... EVERWHERE IS BETTER...

That said... go scuba in the Manley Aquarium shark tank...

And lads DONT bother with the sex shows here...

Instead (and the girls may join if want... Go to the OXFORD TAVERN, in Pertersham (leave 8pm) feww train stops from central but time it right... for Wednesday night Jelly wrestling... party atmosphere, all cheering, funny as fuck. The girls have a laugh in the pit and those on bucks nights get flung in to the girls who pounce.

Be careful in trendy looking Darling hardbour for mugger gangs. In Kings cross dont mess with locals and you shouls be ok...

so stop, get bearings and move on... earn cash in Brisbane.

not exactly clean, i was afraid to walk around barefoot. it was very cheap though (i paid 70 a week) and the staff was quite nice, met some nice people here though there wasnt a lot of socialising going on. but they could've cleaned it better cause there were cockroaches walking around on the bedroom floors!

I stayed here for three weeks in Winter, so it was only $70 a week... total bargain!! For that you get an en suite dorm, with fridge & tv, plus free tea, coffee, bread & rice :-) Fair enough, there's damp patches in the bathrooms, & the paint is crumbling off the walls... but what do you expect for the equivalent of 30 quid a week?? The communal area is a bit crap & it's not the best place to meet people, but if you're working & just looking for a roof over your head, then this place does the job! Oh... & I only saw 1 bug in the kitchen the whole time I was there!!

I didn't plan on staying there, but ended up for a week. I was really disappointed first 2 days, it was dirty, paint falling off the walls, lack of cutlery...But I met some great people there, staff is helpful and friendly, free rice, tea, coffee, pillows and linen, pick up, make it up a bit. It's in the middle of King's cross, so it's safe (I know what i just said) and there's always action going on. Stay if you're short on money, majority of ppl staying there are Asians (1st visit, 2nd visit - Brits), so you might feel left out a bit at first.

I stayed in this hostel for a few weeks, when I was VERY short on money. It was the dirtiest hostel I stayed in, with cockroaches EVERYWHERE, (I know that you can't avoid roaches in most hostels but this place was excessive) the kitchen was also fly infested. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful but the actual management (the only permanent staff members) were unfriendly and in some cases downright aggressive, towards the guests. On the plus side the people who were staying there when I was, were some of the friendliest I met, as everybody there was skint and only there through necessity.

Most people stay here long term while working, it is in the heart of the the red light district and while the streets can be very noisy, life in this area is very intertesting! With a 24-hour bar next door the hostel is a social place to stay and if you want a quiet night in each room boasts its own TV and some with en suite. Two stops on the train from Bondi Beach and a 20 minute walk to the city centre. It is cleaned daily and looks worse than it actually is. I had a great 3 weeks in this hostel.
