As already mentioned, Potts Point House is surely not one of the cleanest hostels around. However it is the cheapest. And you can always clean your own room, and it won't be that dirty anymore. I've spent more then 1 month there, and friends of mine even 5 or 6 month. It seems to be a hostel, were you'll mostly find longterm residents, and we all were almost like family. The drug use, you get used to. After all, you are in Kings Cross. Cockroaches own Sydney and are everywhere to be found. The Bedbugs however are a serious problem, but some people seem to be immune to them. All in all, filthy but all the backpackers there made up for it.

Stayed there last week, 323 bug bites in one night and counting. Bloke then set off a big bomb which doesnt get rid of them. DO NOT STAY HERE, on the street is preferable. Worst hostel we have stayed in, in Australia by far.

i agree with the previous reviewer, nothing has changed. place is infested with bed bugs, cockroaches and god knows what else. even if it's cheap sometimes its better to pay a little more and stay somewhere decent. We checked out after one sleepless night after seeing all the cockroaches all over the floor & bed, disgusting!!!

The most filthy, disgusting place I stayed in Australia. I checked out after 1 night of what was going to be a 5 night stay. Most of the residents seemed to me to be either working illegally, on drugs or both. The Original Backpackers across the road is far, far better unless you're into taking narcotic substances in squalid dorms or particularly devoted to the study of Australian cockroaches.
