BUG Review
This hostel is in a cool building in a good location, but the charm is all in the façade. Inside there is a cold, institutional feel and the main common area is just a big empty room with a television and a few couches. The kitchen is a bit messy, as are most dorms. Toilets are well maintained but a bit grimy. They have bikes and body boards available for use. It attracts a good crowd, but security is lacking and there is not enough locker space.
Price Dorm bed $35 ($34 VIP) Twin room $65-100 ($653-98 VIP) Prices are in Australian dollars and are inclusive of all taxes.

After the confines of city living, re-locating next to the beach is a must - I highly recommend it. I chose Manly Backpackers because they are close to the beach whilst set a couple of streets back from the busy Corso area (where all the shops and bars are). There's a great atmosphere here, a nice mix of long termers and new faces. They do a cheaper weekly rate and free body board hire and have free internet for guests. (hense the review)I came here mainly to surf, get a tan and plan my journey up the coast - the latter being taken care of by Peterpans adventure travel - who handily for my lazy self have a store located next to Manly backpackers reception. Get In. So if you like hanging out at the beach and surfing - whilst having the option to party at night, this is the backpackers for you. Lazy days ....
