BUG Review
This is a small hostel with 30 beds and a nice family atmosphere. Dorms are spacious and clean with large windows and bright yellow walls. Toilets are impeccable. A small and shabby kitchen and common area fills with travellers and people doing temporary work in Manly. Security is good as there are lockers and you must ring the bell to get in. There is no internet. Reserve well ahead in summer.

I checked in just after New Year. There weren't any other hostels available at all in Manly so I figured even if it was a naff hostel, I had to stay,

At first I wasn't impressed... from the outside it's an old house that seems to be falling down, but it's undergoing renovations at the moment. The kitchen area is pretty small - same goes for the lounge. I occasionally saw cockroaches in the loos and apparently there was a mouse living in the kitchen.

I ended up staying here for over 2 weeks though, I love Manly, but was having difficulty finding anywhere else with beds! This hostel is pretty reasonably priced, close to the beach and walking distance to everything else... The other guest were really friendly too. I would go back.

Old cottage house falling apart. Rooms were covered in dust and smelled of mould. Facilities were filthy and looked as though they were always kept that way. The only nice thing I could say is that we got clean sheets and its not too far from the beach.

A very nice backpackers, it is really small which makes for a good atmosphere. The kitchen and the social area are a little small. They are one off the few hostels to have cable TV in Manly. I thought it was one off the better hostels I have stayed at in Sydney.
