BUG Review
Wollongong's YHA is a relatively large complex with three types of accommodation: a three-star hotel, student accommodation and the YHA hostel. It is a big modern hostel that is clean and well maintained. Facilities include several kitchens, a big TV lounge with internet access including Wi-Fi access ($2.50 per hour; Everywhere Internet) and a courtyard barbecue area. It is run by the University of Wollongong but don't expect a frat house atmosphere as the no alcohol rule ensures that any attempt at a party is out of the question.

This has the same high quality as most YHAs.It was quiet, very clean and warm, my 4-bed dorm room was empty which gave me total privacy, it's a short walk to the shops and major shopping centre, and it's about 5-10 minutes to the train station.It was a few dollars more than most YHAs I've stayed in around the country, but it was worth it. The courtyard looks very nice too.I'd definitely stay there again if I ever needed to stay overnight in Wollongong.

I was staying in the new YHA on Keira Street from december 17th until 20th. Pure luxury! I had a twin and since I am there on my own, it feels like my own flat. The room has his own shower, locker, toilet and even a balcony. You should see the kitchen: my own fridge and cupboard with all new cutlery. The staff is ever so nice, friendly and helpful. A big thank you to Sandra for making me feel so welcome. I know they have great deals coming on (one includes a Harley Davidson even!!). I can only hope that fellow travelers will treat this little heaven of luxury with respect, so that future backpackers can also enjoy this clean and wonderful place.
