BUG Review
Alice Lodge is a small hostel on a quiet residential street. It is basically a big house with facilities that include a small fully-equipped kitchen, laundry, a TV lounge and free internet access (including wireless) and there is also a backyard with a swimming pool. The place may not seem that flash, but it is relatively clean and the staff and other guests are friendly and welcoming.
Price Dorm bed $20-24 Double room $55
Prices include breakfast Prices are in Australian dollars and are inclusive of all taxes.
This was one of my favourite hostels. The guy who owns it is so nice and is a good laugh. Everything is clean and it has such a homely atmosphere. It's a little bit of a walk into the centre of Alice, but it's totally worth it. It's a great hostel.
Pros:
Helpful management and easy to meet people
Cons:
pool wasn't heated in winter

I found this place fantastic mainly because of the staff. We went on a tour of Uluru etc..and ended up returning one day early. The guy who worked there had closed reception and was just about to leave but still made time to sort something out for all four of us, even though he was full! Excellent place and fantastically friendly staff. Love the layout as well. Central courtyard where everyone meets and chills. Nice big kitchen with two of everything. You are provided with your own plates, cutlery etc...so you have everything.

The hostel itself is alright, quiet and clean. It's about 10-15 mins walking distance to the centre and not 5 mins as they tell you. No dryer. I only found the staff unfriendly I missed to check the reception hours, but I had a tour starting early in the morning. So I called from the town centre to see what I can do, but unfortunately the reception closed 10 mins ago, so this guy was kinda yelling at me that I should have checked it and that he won't give me my key deposit back.
