Arrived in Harriet's Place in Darwin 13 June 2004. Other people were just arriving here (it was just as winter is picking up - the dry hot season). Stayed in a tent as it was cheaper but about 14 dorms or doubles which all had separate fridge and air conditioning.

Met some amazing people including Tony from East Timor who lived in the hostel constantly. He loved to party, dance, watch TV and drink his quality Australian goon (like we all do - that's 4 litre bags of wine for AUS $10) and VB.

Went back in the wet season and owner let me stay for even less than the dry season.

1st July, Northern Territory Day fireworks, Darwin Festival in August with enough events in the city, and Mindil Sunset Markets on Thursday and Sunday evening for 6 months; watch the sun go down over the beach. eat the variety of different foods and watch the fire events and music.

Best atmosphere I had in Australia and the real part of the continent.
