BUG Review
This is a lovely purpose built hostel at the end of the main street. There is a large courtyard with a swimming pool and a barbecue area with covered tables, but the common room is a bit empty. Dormitories are large and airy, with lockers, en suite bathrooms and some have balconies. The huge kitchen is new and kept impeccably clean. They have internet including Wi-Fi at $4 per hour and a travel desk with great deals on Whitsunday trips.
Price Dorm bed $27 ($24 HI/YHA) Double/twin room $71.50 ($64 HI/YHA) Prices are in Australian dollars and are inclusive of all taxes.
Pros:
Good location

Stayed here Jan 07. We had a double room which is tiny and we were on the side of the hostel by the main road which could be noisy. We did have a balcony, also had to share shower/toilet with the room next door which was ok but we had booked it as an en-suite.The location was very good the kitchen could do with better facilities, had good tv room but the pool was tiny. The staff were helpful.

this is one of the worst hostel I have visited. My double room was of the same lenght of the bed. Plus, one plastic chair. Stop. Consider I stayed there for three days. TV Room is only on the paper, reception closes at 7 p.m. Cleaning personnel was only for emptying the basket. I know that some others room are bigger, but they are in front of the sun for the entire day.

This is by far the best hostel in Airlie beach.. big rooms, each with own bathroom and balcony. Really helpful staff and excellent communal facilites. Ok so it's not a party hostel but you are right beside the action and you are also guaranteed a good night's sleep if you need it. One of the best hostels I've stayed in.

After a traumatic night at the shabby Reefos the YHA was a pleasant surprise.Clean & very large dorms with balconies & your own bathroom.Unlike most of the hostels in Airlie, the yha looked after my bags for free whilst I was sailing. Good location & the japanese cafe next door does amazing sushi & a mean sweet chilli/basil seafood curry!

Sure it is clean and comfortable, but I found it to be a rather sterile and cold place - everyone kept to themselves, thought the staff were very helpful - I'd suggest this to quiet couples or older travellere ... anyone wanting real atmosphere avoid this hostel and try another

I stayed four nights here - not only was the place of sufficiently small size that I felt I was more than just a room number, the staff went out of their way to guide me through the plethora of tours available, and cut through the blurb and hype. The dorms are wide and spacious and nobody's crowded in against each other. Airlie Beach is a chilled-out zone by itself but this hostel made it an even more enjoyable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend the place.
