I stayed here two different nights, once in August and once in December both last year, and it was good enough for me.

It was only a 5 min walk from Roma St station even though it was a little hard to find, it was close to a lot of things like Caxton St pubs and Suncorp Stadium, had a nice view of the mountains from the eating area, a nice kitchen albeit small, cheap beers from reception, and the guys at reception were pretty nice. I couldn't use my credit card though which was a little annoying but I was fine paying the measly $20 in cash.

The only real problems I had were on my 2nd stay people were still drinking at midnight when I had to get an 8am flight the next day (I slept eventually), and it's a 15-20 min walk to Brisbane city centre but the train to the city was only $2 or so.

Brunswick Street was nice too!

I'm from Switzerland and was there in December 2003. I appreciate this place, simple but clean. Most people there were staying for some job in Brisbane, and the place was not in live-center of the city, but close of the big bus-station. In 10-15 minutes by foot you reach the city center. Big view from the terrace to the city and staff very kindly. Just a little bit noise from the road on the morning. Not a place for big party through the night, but for me, with my 2 little children, it was perfect !!!
