The best hostel I stayed at during my trip in Australia. Its big, clean, atmospheric and homely. Good facilities (kitchen, TV lounge, garden, girls dorm etc) and close to shops, restaurants, nightlife, tranquil parks, story bridge and city.

Free: save carpark, washing powder, possum-spotting tours at night, cooking classes (traditional italian/sardinian dishes) on request, swimming pool, library, pick up from transit center.

Owners: a helpful, friendly, relaxed and funny italian family who traveled around the world themselves.

So it really is an excellent place to stay for just a few nights but also for a longer period while working.

Stayed a week at Globetrekkers and found it a really nice hostel. Nice and clean, everyone was very friendly and it's very chilled out. Only slight bad thing i could say was that its a bit cramped when everyones back in the evening. Other than that i enjoyed staying here, and it not far from some great night outs in the Valley.

Very nice surrounding / atmosphere. The thing that i like best about the place is the very friendly owners. And they are so helpful too. Feels like home there.

This is the best hostel I stayed in during my whole trip round Australia. The place is clean and the atmosphere is brilliant. Not really suited to those looking for a wild party though, more a place to relax. Brilliant if you are looking for work and want to settle in somewhere. The fact that there is actually furniture in the rooms instead of just lockers and beds like other hostels makes a real difference. The new owners are very friendly and helpful.

I stayed here travelling with a 70 year old backpacker who thoroughly enjoyed the stay. very handily located in new farm, could have slightly better security, but as there was always someone about there haven't been any problems to date. adequate kitchen and showers, the new host has been recommended by heaps of people i met in Byron who had stayed there, since i stayed there so couldn't be better really. swimming pool nice and cool on the hot nights. cosy and comfy.

Stayed here for a week, double room was spacious and clean. Hostel was quiet and the people were friendly, totally agree with the comment below about the weird owners, but Spock the dog is friendly and overall this hostel was one of the nicest ones we've stayed at.

$245 for a week's stay can't be bad!

One of the few hostels in Australia which is actually a place where you can sleep and relax. Beds are very good and hostel has a nice atmosphere, because of the all the art. The dog is very friendly and so are the owners, although they are a bit weird as well.

After escaping from another hostel with mixed dorm and 8 people sandwiched in a tiny room coming here was heaven. I was given the no by another hostel which was full. I was picked up no problem no delay and brought in with a mini guide around brisbane.

I arrived in and was suprised it was so cheap and nice. there was only one bunk in my room and 3 single beds nevertheless we had our own spotless ensuite.

Kitchen clean and the whole place is covered in the owners paintings and artwork. One room the honeymoon suite has a full size four poster bed and 1 bunk bed.

Internet is the best deal ive ever had $2 unlimited time on the fastest link ive ever had. Its about 15-20 mins walk from town i suppose but is just off brunswick st and on 2 mins to river. Area seemed safe and quiet . Relaxed and friendly.
