BUG Review
This place is small and homely with some funky murals on the walls and hammocks to lounge in. The rooms are run down and a bit dirty and the bathrooms have surely seen better days. There are a lot of long term guests on working holiday here. Combined with an early curfew and a residential location, this place really has no atmosphere. They do have a regular shuttle bus and internet and guests have free use of bikes. At the time of writing, the swimming pool was empty. This place is under new management, so hopefully some improvements will be made in the near future.

The place was not very clean but cheap and has a free shuttle to city. But when I found bed bugs I told the management, they moved me to another room claiming it's the only room with a problem. Later on telling me it's fruit flies or travel bugs. While the girl in my new room said she was bitten two and I heard from others about the same problem. If only they had taken care of it and admit it and not give these excuses and lies. It's a horrable problem and no one should suffer from it just because you stay for a short time in a hostel that won't deal with its problems. By the way, the pool isn't in use.

Homestead backpackers was one of my favourite places during my trip to Oz. After travelling for a long time I finally took rest in Brisbane to earn a bif of money. An absolutely great atmosphere that I really miss. So many people plan to stay here a couple of nights and end up staying months-there are free bus runs to town (which isnt far anyway) all through the day and at night after you have been out on the town to bring you back home. Very cheap weekly rate and free excursions out of town regularly. Met some great people here too. Stay here, you will love it!

Oh, and mate, the only reason there isn't a swimming pool is because it needs refurbishing so .. chill winssstan!

This hostel does not have an operational swimming pool. Why advertise it as having one? The hostel is right in a residential area and party goers are not welcome by neighbours!
