BUG Review
Sandwiched between City Backpackers and the YHA, this hostel looks dilapidated and run down from the outside although we've had reports that it is much nicer inside. The main feature of this hostel is the abusive management that are very selective about who they let stay here. If they don't like the look of you (very likely) they will let you know that you're not welcome in no uncertain terms. In three years no BUG reviewer has managed to check in, if you manage to stay here please write a review.

I was actually staying at the YHA next door and was standing out on the footpath having a smoke. Suddenly, this guy comes over abusing the shit out of me for smoking near his place. I told him all he had to do was ask and I would have moved away but this only made him enter into another rage. I could imagine that if anyone was staying there and had some misunderstanding over the bill or lost keys or whatever, things could turn very ugly.

We walked up to this hostel and let me tell you, "eccentric" is too bloody polite a way to decribe the arsehole manager of this property. Inquiring about accomodation, his first question (sneered out with menace) was "where are you from?" I said "Canada," and he screamed at me (while shaking his fist) "CAN'T YOU READ? WHAT ARE YOU? STUPID??? YOU STUPID COW!! GET OUT OF HERE YOU STUPID IDIOTS!!" Nice way to run a business. Well, I'd reckon you should stop by if you want, it was a pretty big adrenalin rush. If you're not in the habit of pandering to the delusions of psychotic individuals though, you should RUN RUN RUN to either hostel bordering this one. In fact, don't even LOOK at the building, he doesn't like that either.
