To be avoided like the Plague! They told us we would be working for $15/hour, they then said we would have to pay $140 upfront for the week, $20 returnable as long as u don’t break anything. Fair enough...However, we were then made to work in tomato fields (and as unbelievable as this next bit may be im not exaggerating!) for 11 hours each day, with 2 five minute breaks in between, making $1.50 /bucket... they were very small tomatoes, and very big buckets.I think I made a total of $70 for 22 hours work! But as I have not been paid yet! I can’t be sure. When we complained, they smiled politely, promised they would look into it, and see if they could find us something better, this did not happen! We couldn't choose not to work, because failure to do so would cause u to be ejected from the hostel, and as we had paid for a week we didn't want to lose out on the accommodation we had paid for. While the rooms were by no means filthy they had cockroaches crawling up the walls at night, the girl that was sharing with us spent a couple of nights sleeping on the sofa. The toilets are very small, mixed sex, dirty and cramped.the only good thing was that the mutual hatred/loathing of the place brought the backpackers closer together, you were never short of something to talk about...To sum up we were just thoroughly exploited!
Pros:
nice helpful backpackers
Cons:
Not getting any money for hard days work...

I Stayed here together with 2 friends a few month ago... but i can still feel the awfull smell and the sun burn from my T-shirt is still visible (we call it a farmers burn!)
It was our first jobb in Australia so we didn´t know much about it. But the other backpackers at the hostel were very helpful.
Sadly that is the only good thing about it.....
Every day for a week we did the slavework at the feelds .... and here is the worst part....we still HAVEN'T GOTTEN PAYED FOR IT!!! Watch out for this place, and probably other places to, so they don't ruin your holiday. 100 phonecalls and four month later and we still haven't gotten the money. It can't get any worse than that!
