BUG Review
This is a terrible hostel. It is in an old house that desperately needs to be renovated. The "dorms" are just rows of beds scattered
throughout the second floor, many of which are on an old veranda. They do not look very clean. The bathrooms are cleaned, but they also need work and the swimming pool is an unhealthy shade of green. There is one computer with internet access plus a pool table and table tennis in the TV room, which is in a dirty space underneath the house. There few other facilities and th hostel has a very lonely atmosphere.
Price Dorm bed $19 Single room $46 Double room $49 Prices are in Australian dollars and are inclusive of all taxes.

We decided to stay in Kuranda simply because we wanted to experience the Kuranda Scenic Railway, which is well worth the money by the way! The hostel was big, with very few guests, infact I think all of the people we met there (about 4) were employees! Because of its size and lack of guests, the hostel felt very empty, and it is somewhat rundown aswell which gave it a rather creepy feel! The TV lounge was pretty disgusting, as was the pool, it really needs a lot of work but the grounds were absolutely beautiful, the nicest i've ever seen in a hostel. I was also impressed by the kitchen, which was really well laid out and had everything you needed. Overall, it was a nice place to stay, definitely something different, but Kuranda itself is not worth the time i'm afraid.
