BUG Review
This big backpackers’ hostel is in a clean and well-maintained row of terrace houses with good facilities and a lively atmosphere. It has the usual laundry, kitchen and Internet access, in addition to a pool table, table football and a good TV lounge. In the basement there’s a good bar/nightclub, which makes Glenelg Beach Hostel an obvious party place. The dorms are clean and the beds have good quality mattresses.

Friendly place to stay, staff are inviting, floor plan is interesting, but further exploring around, not difficult to find your self around, and not a rabbit warren, just a little confusing at first, the kitchen is small but service able, great common area, wouldn’t hesitate to return.

The location's great, but the building is old, rambling and confusing and not as clean or well-maintained as it could be. There aren't enough bathrooms, or, if there are, I couldn't find them because of the confusing layout. Look elsewhere.

This hostel is great. They have new beds and a huge TV with free foxtel and DVDs. The beds are so comfy. The staff are really friendly, the owner even cooks the free BBQ. The location is great, I walked to the beach everyday. Glenelg has some good bars and shopping. They even have a hostel dog Frank. I will be back next year!

This hostel has everything you need in one place. There are many rooms types from dorms to singles and non of the beds are bunk beds! There is a bar and TV room on-site and your next to the beach at Glenelg. Plus there is a big supermarket just down the road, and the hostel has cooking facilities. But the main point is that its clean and the staff are great.

The hostel was extremely clean and good value for money and the staff where very friendly and went out of their way to help and cater for you whatever your needs were. We stayed at this Hostel in August 04 and it was going through renovations, i.e, a new bar and lounge area, which looked really great. I think once these are complete the place will be a great party hostel as the town of Glenelg is much more pleasant than Adelaide city.

The hostel was just reopened when I was there. It was clean, quiet, and the staff very friendly. The town itself is a little high priced and not that much to do. There is a great beach close to the hostel, but the weather was not co- operative. We went in to Adelaide quite a lot by the tram, as there is much more in Adelaide. This hostel suited my needs very well.

Glenelg Beach Resort is without doubt a good, clean and (in backpacker terms) quite luxurious place to stay but what I found lacking was atmosphere. The staff there were there if you had a problem but were not very helpful or up for any fun of any kind. Ended up leaving after 2 days as we were bored to tears. Shame as I can see how it could be a good place to stay.

Very well organised hostel, where you are given a cutlery set upon arrival to use until the day you leave. Downstairs either side of the bar is the kitchen and TV lounge, showing nightly movies in a very nicely decorated setting. There are various TV's in the bar/dining area showing sports and the Simpsons daily! The Dorm rooms could have less bunkbeds, and there does seem to be too few bathrooms to the amount of people staying there. Also the kitchen (one) is rather small, and closes at 8pm! Winter prices are great as only $12 / night, and pay for 7, get 7 nights free!!!
