BUG Review
Tattersalls Backpackers has a brilliant location right in the centre of Adelaide. Unfortunately the hostel is drab and lifeless. However it is relatively clean and it has all the usual hostel facilities including a fully-equipped kitchen, laundry, internet access and a barbecue.

My partner and I stayed here a year ago while travelling around oz. I really loved this place, it was small with character and had a warm atmosphere.

Its above a pub but its a very quiet pub so theres little noise.

Right in the centre of adelaide so its well located and if you organize with the owner she will pick you up and drop you off at the bus station. Theres a great balcony for kicking back and having a nice wine in the sun and A huge video collection if the weather turns sour. Madeline Is very friendly and helpfull she even baked cake for everyone (makes kitchen smell like home!). Kitchen is a little small at times but managable. Overall relaxing place thats great for budget conscience couples. Ive recommeded it to friends and they too have agreed with me. If im ever back in Adelaide I will definatly return to Tatts.

Note- If you want a loud, crowded party atmosphere look elsewhere.

This was my favourite hostel in all my time in Australia, and I stayed here on several occassions while in the Adelaide area. At first glance it may look like nothing special, being a smallish hostel above a pub in the city centre, but it has an atmosphere that cannot be beaten.

The size of the hostel means that it has a personal touch, and Madeline the manager quickly learns everybody's names and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. Although above a pub, the hostel is generally quiet as it is an early closing bar and not one of the late night hotspots. The beds are fully made, and all usual facilities are available. There is a good TV room and kitchen, internet, and any tours can be booked for you.

To add to this, a free cake is made every night, breakfast is provided in the price, there is a free meal on mondays including something for vegetarians, and guests get 20% off bar drinks. Couldn't have had a better stay. I really recommend this as a top class hostel.
