BUG Review
The Stanley Cabin and Tourist Park is a caravan park in the shadow of the Nut that has an old wooden building with hostel-style accommodation. Accommodation is in small two-bed dorms with single beds (not bunks) and shared facilities include a cosy TV lounge plus a small fully-equipped kitchen and a dining area and a sun room with coin-operated internet.
Price Dorm bed $24 Double/twin room $75-95 Prices are in Australian dollars and are inclusive of all taxes.
Stayed here for a few nights - one in a tent in the park. Absolutely immaculate caravan park with an excellent campers kitchen in addition to the YHA, which is a bit smaller. Nice rooms, cosy living room and very clean bathrooms. Has just been repainted/renovated and is really very nice. Lovely owners too - very accommodating, particularly in getting wet tents dry.

The hostel is little more than a building in a caravan park. The rooms were incredibly cramped. Although only 2 of us were in one room, we barely had room for our bags between the beds. The toilet is practically a joke, just hope nobody else is using it, the kitchen is ok, but the communal room once again poor. OK if you just need a bed for 1 night perhaps, but any longer look elsewhere.

hard to find in the middle of the caravan park. really small hostel, with tiny rooms, only ONE shower for the girls! kitchen and common room are small, to the size of the building. you are only two per rooms. go to "the nut": if the weather is nice, you'll be able to see far away, and just have a walk in the village. a car is preferable to go there (as well as in the rest of tasmania...)
