Carlton College was great. Clean, good atmosphere, excellent and very helpful staff. No curfew or lock-out, but you must check out or pay before 10.30am. Breakfast and clean linen provided in room cost. It was really cheap at $15 a night in a six bed dorm. I was very impressed and would recommend people to stay there. It is also very close to public transport and a five minute walk to the city.

The building, location and facilities are fine, however, the security is lax to say the least. Our room was 'broken into' on the first night, presumibly using a key as there was no forced entry. Nothing was taken but having your bag broken into and posessions strewn acrross the room is unpleasent. Incidents like this could have been avoided. The management and staff were unprofessional and rude about the whole incident. Shame, because it's otherwise an ok hostel.
