BUG Review
Kununurra Backpackers Adventure Centre is comprised of three houses that feel a bit dated and need a bit of work. It has good facilities including a nice outdoor area with an open-air TV lounge, a barbecue and swimming pool. Accommodation is in small air-conditioned dorms, but the standard isn't as good as other places in town.
Price Dorm bed $21-23 ($20-22 HI/YHA, VIP) Double/twin room $54 ($52 HI/YHA, VIP) Prices are in Australian dollars and are inclusive of all taxes.
Pros:
Good A/C friendly staff
Cons:
Needs a little updating

This b/p is on the whole a good place to spend a few days. There are pretty good facilities (internet, kitchen etc) and the rooms are clean and generally in good repair. some of the communal areas need updating which appeared to be happening whilst we were there - new ceiling fans in the lounge. Although this is a 'workers' hostel, the people and staff are friendly. Our main criticism would be that the office has some random opening hours and it is not always easy to find someone! We would recommend this hostel.

I stayed in a single room, which was very small, but the beds were comfortable enough and the linen clean. The airconditioning works very well too. The bathrooms need updating, but are clean. The kitchen is large and clean, but there are no freezers. The tv room is a sheltered area outside with old, dusty seating. Emma is very helpful and friendly and will help you find things to do in the area. Try the sunset cruise on Lake Argyle, if you can.

I moved here after staying somewhere else and loved the place. One of the friendliest and most relaxed places I have stayed at. In some ways, impossible to pin down why - the mattress aren't the best, the room was a bit cramped and the bathrooms, while clean are very old. And yet, I would not hesitate to go back. They have just finished building a fantastically equipped and sizeable kitchen. The owners seem to be able to get to know everyone really quickly. The tours they offer are great - canoeing or the bungles camping trip - and they can give you good advice on other trips. Great pool, lovely gardens, lots of areas to sit around. (oh and the soft loo paper made a change from the half ply sandpaper most places have!!)

I like the way the place is set up with different houses. The offer great tours by themselfs or via other tour opparaters. It is not only a place to visit but they wil help you to find a job as wel.Of all the Hostels I've been in in Australia This one has the best atmosfeer and possibilities. The place is not the most modern or luxurisch one but for me the best.
