Pros:
Wonderful view of Munich. Nice place away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Cons:
It is a bit of a trek from the city centre and it is impossible to catch a bus after midnight.

This hostel had a really pleasant atmosphere. It is near a wood, if you like that kind of environment. There is an amazing panoramic view of Vienna, which is especially good at night, if you have had a few 'bevvies'. It feels open and spacious and is an ideal place if you feel like relaxing after a long day's sightseeing. However if you want a place to crash after a late night out, it is not ideal because it is quite far from the town centre and the last bus leaves at about midnight. It is an ideal place for children, and couples who just want to have a relaxed time.

Stayed 1 week in that hostel in August.Don't let the location put you off: from Wien's center to Ottrakring, it's only a 15' ride with the Tube, and though you may have to wait another 15' for the bus (146B or 46B), once you've got on, the ride up the hill takes only 10'. Hostel very easy to spot, even at night: just next to the castle (well-lit white facade, flags).Beautiful location, in a safe residential suburb. A small wood to the west, and vineyards sloping down the hill towards the city to the east. Lovely view of Wien, especially at night. "Heurigen" not far away.Hostel very clean, cheap laundromat (very nice lounge to wait for your laundry nearby), plentiful breakfast, very friendly staff. Mostly families with children, but the kids turn in early, so the hostel isn't noisy at night. Lots of parking space for cars.Drawbacks: 1st night, ordered and paid a meal in the cafeteria. Girl got muddled and gave my meal to someone else, who never said there was a mistake! Anyway, I did get my food in the end, and they didn't charge me a 2nd time for it!I'm afraid my week-travelcard got pinched in the room on my 3rd evening there, while I was sipping a coffee and looking at the view in the small lounge!

This is a wonderful place. I stayed here for five days and I will absolutely come back again. It's clean, the staff is friendly and the place has a wonderful view of the city especially by night. It is a little away from the city but has efficient public transportation connections to all Wien's attractions for in 30 min. This hostel is also very quiet, which I loved. We were very pleased.

Although the hostel was great in terms of cleanliness, quietness, and overall atmosphere, it was very, very far out from the city centre. If you want any nightlife in the downtown core, you'll either have to end your partying by 9pm or shell out over 30 for a taxi. The area is not within close walking distance to restaurents (around 20 minutes contending with a hill upon returning), and there are not many ammenities nearby. However, the view of the city and the vinyards are really something to be appreciated. The hostel was nice for a night, but we ended up moving to Myrthengasse to be in closer proximity to events and ammenities.

This is an absolutely charming place. I stayed here for three days and loved it. It's clean, the staff is friendly and the view of the city is worth visiting this place for. It is a little away from the city. But the efficient public transportation network of Wien ensures that you reach the city centre in max. 30 minutes. This hostel is also very quiet, which I loved. But if you are the wild, high-on-hormones kind, you may find this place too sedate. But me and my wife had a great time here.
