This hostel sucks ass. Staff was slow, unwilling and above all they provided three of us with unwashed sheets wich resulted in scabies! If you still want to go bring your own sheet and do not expect hygiene. There are no lockers / safety option either.
Great hostel atmosphere with clean rooms and beds and great hot showers located at a good spot. 3 January 2008
Pros:
Open-minded atmosphere, clean enough and 24/7 open but not a loud hostel.
Cons:
reasonable

We we're in this hostel during new years eve 2007/2008 with quite a large group of 13 persons. The communication with Guy the owner about the reservations went on perfectly and last-minute-changes weren't a problem. Finally arrived we enjoyed our own dormitory (with a key) which was clean and for a small extra onetime fee we got clean sheets. The toilets were clean but the women's disposal-can could be emptied more often.
The showers we're perfect!
Downstairs there's a big living with a warm atmosphere, great place to hang out and drink a nice Belgium beer. Breakfasts are fine and fresh! Quality/Price is one of the best we have ever experienced!!
Relaxed and boho, pity about security 18 December 2006

The Boomerang, despite some drawbacks, is a great place to stay. We walked from the main station (pretty easy stroll) but almost walked past the place because of the lack of signage (the name was written on the glass of the door in a marker). Had a twelve-bed dorm to ourselves, could walk into town pretty easily and quickly, and had access at all hours. Only probs.- no locks on the front or dorm doors (so no keys!) and I thought it smelt a little (just a temp. plumbing problem I think). Have fond memories of the neighbourhood, and who can beat a relaxed breakfast (served 9-12) in a chilled atmosphere. I think we paid something like 12 euros each (in October). If I make it back to Antwerpen I would stay here again.

This is by far the friendliest and most spacious hostel that i have been in during my europe backpacking adventure. The owner has got great ideas and the place is set up perfectly for travellers. He even sits down and has breakfast with you!!!

Arrived at Boomerang after a drive from England, the staff were so relaxed. Given a key and told to come and go whenever we liked. Went upstairs for a nap in our huge room in the roof and then went out into the town. Had a few drinks and came back to find the staff hanging out in the lounge. Joined them for a few beers and a chat. So cheap and so cool.

I really appreciate this hostel. Thanks to this hostel, I could enjoy staying in Antwerp. Although the cheapest hostel in this town, staffs are really really kind, and very clean domi rooms, shower rooms and kitchen. In addition, its dining room is very comfortable. Easy to get city centre and the station. In fact, I did not feel anything uncomfortable.

The Boomerang Hostel was a great place to stay. From the street front, the hostel is difficult to recognise as it has just moved and there is no signage. However, once inside, the common room is really trendy, comfy and welcoming. The welcome I received was very warm and the owner is exceptionally friendly and was willing to give me as much information about Antwerp as he possibly could. It is in a good location being only a ten minute walk to the town centre.Despite the creaky stairs, the rooms are clean as are the bathrooms and toilets. The breakfast is fantastic and well worth it considering was only 2Euros. The Italian place across the road is good for feeds in the evenings.I will definitely stay here again.

This is definitely one of the most amazing hostels I've ever stayed at. The building is really great! It has beautiful ceilings, staircases and hallways, spacious dorms, and a comfortable "living room". It really looks like a hotel, and feels like a hotel but it has the ambiance of a hostel. The hostel-crew is just great. And the fact that this hostel doesn't have a curfew comes in quite handy when you've lost your way in the middle of the night..(as I obviously did..) The city of Antwerp itself is really worth paying a visit, especially when you're a culture-freak and when you enjoy an open atmosphere.

Me and a friend travelled to Antwerp/Anvers. Although i know my way around in Antwerp its a living hell to get somewhere by car because of all the one way streets. Finally late at night we managed to find the adres of the boomerang hostel (volkstraat 49) That's when the shit hit the Vann.IT'S GONE !!! We had to start all over again to find a place to sleep. At last we found a hotel next to the central station. The name of this hotel is Biljart Palaceand its in the centre of the city. We payed 51,-for a 2 person room with shouwer, t.v. and breakfast included. P.S. Want to explore the nightlife??Go to café 'd Anvers its in the redlight district close to the cathedral (groenplaats, grote markt)
