It's true, the hostel is not located in the best part of town, however it's kinda close to the train station (10 minutes walk) and a 20 minute walk to the cathedral. The breakfast is the best one I had in my european journey: buffet with ham, cheese, eggs, tea, fruit, jam and bread. Friendly staff, and a lot of cheap internet places around. Overall, a good place to stay.

Stayed in a double. Bit noisy at night, but generally rooms and showers OK. Reasonable prices, best hostel breakfast I've ever had - it's a buffet, and the food is actually nice. Location not so good, about a 20-30min walk to main square, altho about 15min from Central and Berchem stations if of course you go the right way (not 10min as the hostel may say & be very thorough when reading their map for navigation as I found it very misleading). Friendly staff. Antwerp in general isn't worth going out of your way to visit. There's so much construction work to be done that you'd be forgiven for thinking you're in some war torn country & it's the most anti-pedestrian place I've ever visited. I guess this explains why the hostel wasn't full in peak season.

First off, you can walk to this place from the train station, but the area is not good. I cut my evening short because I didn't want to brave walking through the area late at night. The room was fine, the stairs are steep though! Breakfast was very nice. There isn't much of a meeting area. There is a room but no one seems to go there and it was difficult to meet others there. I had a problem when I was there that one of the people in the room took the key with them when they went out. This meant that my room was locked and I couldn't really get in there until I was ready to go to sleep.

I spent one night at this hostel and was quite happy to be leaving the next day. It is situated quite close to the train station, which is quite convenient, but the surroundings are still pretty dodgy. A tram gets you to the center because it is quite far away - much better than walking in the seedy and dirty streets. A roommate saw some drug dealing through the window of our room!!! There is a good side to this hostel though: the breakfast!! It was a real feast with eggs, toasts, ham, cheese, cereal and even three choises of jam!!
