The location is right in the old town near most of the sights. You can see the mosques from the balcony. It is up an alley, so everything is as peaceful & quiet as you could wish. The hostel is near decent restaurants, several cafes, & next door to a good bakery. Good tram service regularly runs from near the door. The hostel offers a free day or night pick up service from either bus or train station with advance warning--highly recommended. The staff--part of a travel agency--is very helpful & speak competent English. The office also offers a tour of the tunnels used during the Serbian invasion Considering the distance covered, it is a good value. The common room, part of the kitchen, is intimate & provides a real hostel atmosphere. The down side is the lack of maintenance. The showers lack decent water pressure & the stove is a joke. However, beds are comfortable. The staff is currently engaged in an improved maintenance program; they were buying a new TV so that everybody can watch football.
