The staff cannot do enough for you - their knowledge of the area is extensive and they are friendly and cheerful without exception. The hostel is beatifully restored in a fantastic location. I could not find fault with Hostel Mostel, Veliko Turnovo!!

How often have you read criticism of, or experienced, hostels with very little communal space?
Well, with their new premises Hostel Mostel have taken on the challenge and come up with a spacious light, airy open plan common room which includes a pool table, PC desks, a range of seating areas of different types, and an excellently equipped modern kitchen.
Coupled with the range of services available...excellent breakfast, comprehensive travel and tourism advice, and an all-round welcoming and friendly atmosphere Hostel Mostel must rate as one of the best anywhere; indeed, it seems likely to become a destination in itself for Balkan travellers seeking some serious relaxation/recovery. Sofia isn't crammed full of must-see sights - but this is a 'must-stay' hostel.
Be warned , though, it can be hard to get away.

Great location, great staff, great breakfast, beer and pasta free at dinner, free pickup from train/bus station and if they cant get you they pay for your taxi there. Staff very helpful. Overall probably one of the best hostels ever stayed in!
