This hostel was amazing. The only drawback is location: it is in the Zagreb suburbs, about a 20 minute tram ride away from the train station. But other than that, it's great. The beds and showers were great, and there were very good kitchen facilities as well. The staff were very nice and eager to please. And finally, just about every room has a balcony, which is a good place to chill and drink Croatian wine after a long day in the city. Worth the trip to the suburbs.

very nice hostel, friendly staff and very clean. You can have your bed as soon as it's available and can use there showers etc as soon as you've arrived which is good if you've been on the overnight train from split!

My three night stay at this hostel in July was very comfortable and the host was very friendly. The room felt much smaller once it was full but still okay. But they were clean, everything was clean and tidy. No air-conditioning but huge openable windows instead.

I think the hostel has three or four floors. My floor had two bathrooms, both with showers and hot water, and a kitchen. I'm sure all the floors had these facilities. The floors also had a balcony and a kind of common room. Nice being able to sit down and talk to other travellers.

The ground floor also had it's common room and two computers. Cheap internet. In the lobby you could buy extremely refreshing cold water. A must after a hot summer day exploring the city.

It takes about 15 min. to reach the city center. 5 minutes walk to the nearest tram station and from there about 10 min. to the center with a tram.

Some would say the prices are reasonable, but I say they're cheap. You don't find hostels like this everywhere.

Not much to say that others havent, this was a great place to stay with nice beds, dorms, showers and facilities. I've got a few tips for future guests though:

- hang around in the kitchen (2nd floor) or one of the balconies if you're on your own, as the main lounge area wasnt really being used on my visit

- as recommended by the staff a nice cheap place to eat in the area is called Opera, up towards the tram stop then left 2 blocks at the grass.

- washing is either expensive (6 Euros a load) as some guests were saying, or free because when I used the machine they didnt charge me(!?)

If your backpacking, this is a welcome change to the average hostel, the best showers, the nicest staff, the cleanest rooms, great large belconies etc

The only problem is that it's about 15 mins by tram from the centre, but you should def stay here !!

Only stayed here one night, but it was exceptionally clean, comfortable beds, and really friendly staff. Easy to find - shortish tram journey from Zagreb central station. Warning. Stamp your ticket on the tram! I couldn't get to the stamping machine due to it being rush hour and I couldn't walk down the tram with my backpack as it was so packed. Got caught by undercover policewoman and fined a fortune despite my protestations and obvious brand new ticket. Anyway, lovely hostel. Found Zagreb a tiny bit dull though.

We were recommended this place by the equally wonderful staff (thanks Tadi !) at Red Bus 2 in Budapest, and called them up to make a booking. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was fine, great bathroom facilities, very helpful Staff. The owner, Vera, was just great. I can't speak too highly of this place. Its a short tram ride from the centre of Zagreb but this just adds to the fun of travelling in Europe (and its only 18 kuna for a day pass in any case). They don't do breakfast but there are places nearby and its only a short ride to Town in any case. Zagreb is a wonderful small city full of interesting old buildings and although it might not be Vienna or Budapest it grows on you.

A little outside of the city centre, but very easily accessible by tram, just past the zoo and right next to the Kras chocolate factory! When you smell the chocolate, you're there!

Very accommodating and friendly staff, comfortable beds and quiet rooms. Clean bathrooms, a rather well-stocked kitchen where you can make your own food and lovely balconies on every floor. Staff will do your laundry and set it out on the clothes line to dry in the sun. We stayed 4 days in the middle of the August 2003 heat wave and appreciated the air-conditionned kitchen and dining area!

This is the best hostel I have ever stayed in-the staff are so friendly, the rooms are all spacious and clean, there's a balcony on each floor and best of all there's air conditioning! I was there in the middle of August in the midst of 36 degree heat and this was such a luxury! No praise is high enough for this place.

The best hostel I have ever stayed in, the staff are nice, the rooms are fab, air con, clean, good shower, internet, only drawback is that its a little outside town there is a tram line... go and stay you wont be dissapointed.
