there is nothing wrong with this hostel, though there is nothing special about it either. we basically had to walk through someone elses room to get to ours, and the staff wouldnt go out of there way to help you.
Perfectly good, but no award winner 19 February 2007

I've stayed here a few times cos it's close to my friend's flat. It perfectly good but i wouldn't be surprised to find better in prague. IP Pavlova is a good area and NOT near old town square which i find horribly full of stag nights and tourists anyway (although it is walkable).Staff were very chilled out, friendly and english speaking in my experience. There IS a small kitchen, breakfast is good, adjoining restaurant is great, has internet.
Pros:
Free internet access and good free breakfast!
Cons:
Not much room in the lounge!

This hostel was ideal for my use (one night stop off) no lockers though, and the lounge was pretty small, I don't think they have a kitchen.... The restaurant attached is kinda ok, and they have free internet access which is good. It's only a 10minute walk into the main part of town and around the corner is a link to the metro. No complaints, but have heard that the Clown and Bard is the place to be......
Good location but lacking in charm and atmosphere 30 April 2006

Location and free breakfast
Cons:
Staff not very friendly and helpful

I stayed here for 1 night only, in a 6-bed dorm room, in May 2005. The best thing about this hostel is that it's in a very central location - walking distance (if you're in a reasonable shape!) to all the main sights and in a nice area. However, the staff are not very helpful and can be quite rude. Bathrooms are reasonably clean and the room that I stayed in was very spacious, which is a big plus when sharing with 5 other people. The free breakfast is great - unlike many other hostels, it's quite generous and does not feel just like an excuse to be able to put "free breakfast" on the website... Overall, you get what you pay for and I had a pleasant stay. However, the friendliness of the staff and the general atmosphere of the place could definitely improve.

It is quite a walk to the city centre. The rooms are on about 6 floors and this is the largest hostel I have stayed in. Bathrooms basic but clean with hard floors. No bunk beds which is an advantage(geddit) and the rooms are big which gives more personal space. Staff not particually helpful. Lots of traffic noise in the lower front rooms (we were 3rd floor) 2 tones/sirens all night. Reminds me of a 1960's Barnados home in the UK. Cheap and therefore good value.

Or was it just my room? I didn't like it at all, the noise from the street kept me awake and the room smelled rather strange. Lucky me, I stayed for just 2 nights. I suppose you can get a better hostel just as much donwtown as this one.

it was spotlessly clean, near city centre & provided lots of info on tours, doctors etc. water & other things reasonably priced. cleaning lady EXTREMELY rude however & the male receptionist was a smart alec only interested in the TV. there should be lockable doors on the showers. it is in a very noisy location too.

I stayed at the hostel Advantage this summer. The bathroom is only the problem, but it was not dirty, every morning the cleaners tided it up, but ... There is very good restaurant and cheap as well with the garden. Breakfast very good, clean rooms, friendly staff.

I stayed here after the pretty good reviews on this website and must say I am really disappointed. This hostel is rubbish - the bathrooms are really dirty with very little privacy, the rooms are OK but with the window open, really noisy with all the traffic. The receptionist did little to be helpful, at one point while asking him something he ignored us and got up to watch the TV! It was the time of the floods so we didn't know what was happening and where we could go, and he couldn't be bothered to help at all. I too have worked in a hostel for years - I ran a hostel in New Zealand and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. We went to the Clown and Bard after 2 nights which was fantastic - stay there instead!
