Stayed in this hostel first week of March. Nice warm showers with good water pressure. Pleasant, small room with ample heat. Staff very helpful and very quiet location. We stayed in a double room in the garden part and was pleased with the whole experience. Pleasant walk to the metro and a very easy city to motivate. Highly recommended. Staff at hotel speak English but a little more difficult when out and about but don't let that stop you from seeing this masterpiece.

I love this hostel! It's in a great location, 10-15 mins from the metro station which is only about 2 stops from the city centre. Sure it's quiet at night but I think it's safe. The garden was lovely and the rooms were clean. Stayed in the apartment for a night. Cheap @ 600KC. You share a bathroom & toilet with one other room. 2nd night in a 4 bedded dorm. No lockers but you can keep your luggage in the cupboards or luggage room. Shared bath with no doors. 1 toilet. Breakfast provided. I loved the pate-like paste! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Reception open 24 hrs. Snacks and drinks for sale. Free postcards to send. Prague is a GREAT city, I love it!

i booked this hostel for 4 nights in march, and ended up staying for only one. we arrived in prague after dark, and finding this hostel was a nightmare. it is a 10 minute walk from wenceslas square, but it down a quiet and very "shady" road. there are no pubs or restaurants nearby, and the neighborhood is older residents.the hostel itself is fine. the staff are wonderful and everything is clean, but i perferred a more central location. good if you don't plan on walking around alone at night.

This hostel provides everything a hostel should. We booked for 2 nights and ended up staying for a week. For a double room to ourselves, the price was really reasonable considering it includes sheets, towels and a good breakfast. They clean your rooms every day as well as the bathroom and small (but well equipped) kitchen. The reception is 24 hours and the staff are a good information source for restaurants and sights. It's only 5 mins to the nearest metro and 10 mins to Wenceslas Square. Its not the best place if you want to party and meet people but if you want a quieter hostel, definately stay here .

nice hostel. quite clean throughout. decent location, only about 10 minutes to walk to the center of town. easy walk. staff was very helpful; contacted czech airlines several times to track down my missing backpack. not a party hostel, it is instead a nice and quiet respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. only drawback: 380 kc is a bit pricey

I was in Prague. I found Hostel U Melounu in a guide. They are great. They have pick-up service, garden, very fine breakfast and clean beds. I really enjoy it.
