I had the mostest fun here ever! Was supposed to be staying in Hostel Skippy but couldn't find it, so ended up here. I'm so glad I did! It's in the best location with one of the busiest and popular bars, with all the others just around the corner! Stumbling distance from the "danse" club (!) and no curfew. Cheap and free lockers which is always good too! Breakfast is really nice, abeit not free, but really good value and I would very much recommend the Hemendex! (Ham and Eggs!)

This place connects to the bar, which although convenient, is unbelievably loud since the wall is the only separation. The rooms connect and can allow massive amounts of people in each...all I will say is snoring Irishmen with gas. The place isn't too friendly, either, but it is central to the old town. A walk from the train station, however, so you had better book ahead and plan on walking for at least 2 km before getting there.

Stayed here in Dec 05 just before Xmas. Read reviews of how happening the Travellers' Bar was before I went to Cesky Krumlov. However, when I was there, there was hardly any patrons and hostel guests. Guess it was too cold to party! The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. Toilets were extremely well kept too. Location is fantastic too. Would recommend this place to anyone visiting Cesky Krumlov. Caution: Unless absolutely necessary, do not eat at the Travellers' Restaurant as it's much more expensive than the lovely pub food u can find around town. Besides, the food there is not fantastic at all.

We stayed at this hostel for one evening in Aug 2005 in a room on the top floor. We had no noise problems, the rooms were very clean and bright, and the bathrooms/showers were also very clean. The hostel provided in-room lock boxes, towels, and breakfast. It is in a great location in Cesky Krumlov (the town itself is a bit of a bore and I would recommend as only a day trip). The prices were reasonable and many people were staying there. I would not say this is a party hostel, the bar is active in the evening, but maybe this is because our room was not next to the bar.

This review is no reflection on the superb service and quality of the Travellers Hostel in Brno that gets top marks... The travellers hostel in CK is another matter. Due to strange train times from Brno, I arrived at 11.30pm, I was lucky in the fact that there was a member of staff in the busy bar area who seemed extremely put out that I turned up so late. My first impression wasnt good. I came to CK from Brno and had been after some peace after 2 weeks of solid partying and didnt find any here. If your looking for some peace in the Beautiful town of Cesky Krumlov this isn't the place... The bar is open late and loud music is played til the early hours (great if your up for that). In addition to the music all the doors need oiling as they creaked and groaned with every open plus all the floors are wooden and hollow and you are kept up all night by the revellers to-ing and fro-ing stamping footsteps. The cleanliness is poor as is the maintenance of the place (door handles falling off etc). I appreciated the fact that this was a party hostel, so the next day I decided to check out, when I asked the receptionist for a recommendation on a quieter hostel I was met with a rude and unhelpful reply. I can handle some noise and a bit of uncleanliness but rude , unhelpful staff give this the 1 star (if there was a lower rating I'd choose that) I moved to the Hostel Ryba, which over looks the river and is a fantastic, friendly family run hostel. +420 380 711 801 check out the attic room, very cool

Stayed here for 2 nights from 10th July- this is a great hostel and cheap to. Its located in the centre of the beautiful town in a nice old building, is clean, has helpful staff, good toilet/shower facilities, kitchen, lounge area and most importantly a bar :) OK I might be slightly biased here due to spending the first night quite drunk in the company of 6 very nice canadian girls but still! (girls if you're reading this give me an email). Erm where was I. I Forget, anyway this is a great hostel, go stay there.

This hostel is first class if you are comparing it to Pragues Travellers Hostel (which I think have bags of character). Nice cheap, single comfy beds, hot water, lively bar. The only downside I can think of is it is in Cesky Krumlov, which is beautiful, dirt cheap and all that, but I found it pretty boring. Mabye it was the filthy, disgusting, smelly, uncooked, pizza that i had to force down my neck, (I hate wasting food) that put me off the place or it might have been the weather, I can never enjoy myself in a place if the weather is miserable.

I stayed in travellers hostel last summer ('03) while backpacking around europe. It was the best 3 days ever, the hostel is so homely so friendly and so much fun! After a disastrous trip to cesky krumlov from prague (i got off the train to get a drink+my watch was slow and when i came back the train was gone+my bag+my friend were on it!!) me+my friend arrived in cesky krumlov in a terrible mood but both of our moods lifted the minute we arrived to travellers hostel.I couldve stayed in this hostel for months+the majority of people we met stayed a lot longer than they had planned. There is cheap internet access+ a bar +laundry service.I later went back to cesky on the same trip but stayed in hostel 99 as the guy i was travelling with really wanted to stay there,as much as i loved travellers hostel i didnt object as i am always open to trying a new hostel but i was sooo disappointed!it was nothing like travellers, dont get me wrong hostell 99 is a great hostel but i found it was not as friendy,if you like sitting around with guitars etc having sing songs 99 is the place for u then but travellers is more fun!For anyone travelling around europe or even just visiting prague it is a CRIME to miss cesky krumlov!!everyones heard of prague and everyone goes there but while cesky is popular it is more undiscovered than prague+ i much prefered it to prague, its cheaper and more beautiful. It has a lovely pink castle with bears!+a river that u can go in boats+rings down. There are loads of lovely restaurants along the river that u can have dinner at and lots of nice litte jewellery shops. It may sound like there isnt much to do but trust me i get bored easily and u wont get more in cesky krumlov. The first time i went with a friend and we partied like mad (as another 1 of the reviews said -watch the absinth!!) and the second time i went with a boy so its good for fun and romance!!Getting to cesky krumlov is easy there is a good few trains a day from prague and its about a 2 and half/3 hour trip, the train brings u to cesky budejovice(ive probably spelled that wrong!) and then u head to the bus station 2 mins across the road and u get the bus from there to cesky krumlov which takes about 45-55 minsGO!!!! :-)

The first night at the Traveller's Hostel they put us in the big room beside the lounge/bar area. That night they had a 'show' which went until late at night. We had to walk through the crowded bar in our pyjamas to get to the bathroom... We requested a move upstairs, which they granted, and we found near-bliss. Huge kitchen/TV area, beautiful deck, lockers that you can fit your whole pack into...Breakfast when we were there was cold meats, cream cheeses, jams and breads. Coffee and tea. They provide cheap internet access too.Go tubing on the river in CeskyK. Be careful with the absinthe....

Stayed here the late summer of 2003. Nice place, good athmosphere, nice staff. The only downside was the breakfast. A friend of mine told me the hostel in Prague had a gourmet breakfast, so I was sorta expecting the same from this place, but instead of croissants I got some bits of dried out bread and a variety of suspicious looking salads.
