School camp feel, but nice enough hostel, March 1, 2005

We took the bus from the Airport to the Hostel, although we had to change buses as there was no direct. But the Airport staff new the hostel and gave pretty good directions and the bus drivers were helpful also. Getting in the City is easy though as there is a direct bus into the CC, and you can be dropped right outside Tivoli. Check the timetables though.

It's obviously a fairly large hostel as others have suggested. We stayed in a small, private, relatively new room with a single bunk bed. There was a small locker in the room in which we could store out valuables. The place felt like we were in school camp, not a bad thing really, but there were many kids around, and they love to run up and down the hall way at night. Oh and in summer, keep your window shut at night or suffer the Mosquito consequence.

The amenities were pretty good, showers had hot water at all times and there was a cooking utilities. Breakfast cost 45 kroner each (could be more now though), expensive and not worth the money.

Overall not a bad place to stay, but don't expect the personal touch you'd receive at smaller hostels.

I have to agree with Patrick from Ottawa. I stayed there for three nights last week. The hostel is clean, very nice, pretty new and offers decent accomodation. BUT: Beware of noise, because the walls are too thin. Everytime somebody walks through the corridors and doors are opened and closed you can feel the vibrations through the wall. So do yourself a favour and choose a bed at the dead end of the corridors !

This is a huge hostel. There is no lack for crazy preteens running up and down the halls. The room was adequate in size and clean. The breakfast was very good. I loved the Danish cheeses especially. This hostel is located very near the airport. Not close to downtown, but easy to find and connect to via bus.

After staying at another hostel in the city centre, having to take the S-train and then the metro to get to DANHOSTEL Copenhagen Amager was not a problem. It only takes about 15 minutes by transit to reach the train station, but it is about a 10 minute walk to the metro stop from the hostel.

My first impression of the the place was that it was very clean and the staff at the reception desk were very friendly and helpful. The hostel has really nice kitchen facilities (no ovens though, just stovetops), a nice TV lounge, a sitting lounge and provides internet access for 1 kr/min.

My main complaint about the place was that the walls were two thin. Everytime someone opened or closed a door to their room, it would vibrate through the whole hallway. It was even worse while I was there because the hostel was overrun with school kids at the time that we stayed there.

If you plan to stay here, book ahead as it was filled by tour groups and students on class trips in early May.

stayed 2 nights at the end of march 2003 ,definately the cleanest hostel i have ever stayed in, it wasnt very busy so i had a 5 person room all to my self and they have proper beds, duvets and pillows which was great.

The center is only a few minutes away by Metro so i didnt find the location inconvenient at all ,thought it takes 5-10 min to walk to the metro station.

Spotless, clean, and I also remember inexpensive. Family oriented (it's an H.I.) & can't ask for a better facility (new stuff, and did I mention it's spotless?). The only downside: too far out of the city. I could only find 2 buslines to the City, and they stop operation around 10-11 pm (anyone, correct me if inaccurate). Means: you have to be back in the hostel before midnight, or you'll end up paying for taxi. And there's not much to do in the hostel when you get back.

I stayed 1 night in a double room, which was very small but quite nice (2 bunkbeds). There is a kitchen which is really good, tv room and everything is practily new. Reception staff wasn't too helpful; 10 minutes walk to the metro station, and then a few stops to get to the center. If you want to use the internet you'll need a hammer to make those keyboards work.
