The beds are not a bit squeaky, they are awful. At one point in the night I found I was lying so that the bed sqeaked as I breathed in and again when I breathed out. There are also a lot of people in quite small rooms. There was a lot of school kids, so if I wasn't grumbling about the bed then I was complaining about them running around shoutin and playing music till 2 and then getting up at 4.30 ish! The hostel was a long bus journey out of town and although it has the facilities, it was not a good place to stay. I left after 2 days even though I wanted to see more of Copenhagen. Unfortunately there is not that much choice at a reasonable price at this time of year. But if I visit Copenhagen again I will book in advance and avoid Bellahoj at all costs.

My night here was not fun. I shared my room with 5 other people -- three would have been great plenty! The location is nice, but virtually impossible to find. I did enjoy a very nice Danish breakfast, however.

Its clean and had everything you needed. It is more for families than for backpackers. It is also a good 20 minutes in the bus from the City Centre hence a bit awkward to get back to after a night out.

We stayed for 3 nights and unfortuately found the lady at the front very rude and unhelpful. Although we had booked 5 months in advance they were unable to give us a double room - what must it take to get one then! The place is absolutely overrun by young school kids which is ok but they mess up the toilets and the showers, play knock and run on your doors at night and yell and scream as much as possible. The hostel really needs to look at the kitchen facilities as well as they have a near new kitchen but it is in aweful condition - is not cleaned it seemed by anyone, had literally only 5 knives and no other cutlery and had bits of food all over the place.Yes it is reasonably priced considering the cost of accomodation in Copenhagen, but you also spend a lot on transport to get to the city, and it is not close to the bus stop from the airport either.Only good thing was a great plasma tv screen that they had, otherwise very dissappointed considering the reviews.

A very well-maintained hostel with friendly staff in a pleasant and safe neighborhood. Very squeaky beds, though. 20 minute/15kr ride from city center, which gets pricey after a few days.

My friend and I travelled to Copenhagen in November 2002. It is definitely one of the most amazing cities in Europe. It was difficult to find a hostel that was open during that time and we ended up at this one, which is a 15-20 minute bus ride from the train station. It was worth the ride! It was a very safe place and there were families who were staying there. Denmark is a great place- everyone is very friendly. It was also the opening weekend of the Tivoli Christmas Market- something not to be missed!
